Senior Python Developer, Brandeburgo Germany

We are a mission-driven tech company focused on reducing harmful gas emissions in the chemical and industrial sectors. Our innovative solutions combine optical spectroscopy, industrial IoT, data science, and machine learning to detect and analyze emissions in real time. Based in Berlin (Teltow), we work in a hybrid setup—at least one day per week in the office, with flexible remote options for the rest.

About the Role

As a Senior Python Developer, you will join the software team to build robust, scalable tools for real-time analysis of spectral measurements and for developing internal data analysis infrastructure. This includes implementing data processing pipelines, developing APIs, and collaborating with data scientists to optimize and deploy analysis algorithms across on-premise and cloud environments.

Responsibilities Develop software to analyze spectral data in real time.

Build tools and infrastructure for advanced data analysis.

Design and implement scalable data pipelines.

Create APIs to support front-end systems and internal analytics tools.

Collaborate with data scientists to extend and improve algorithm performance.

Deploy solutions to both on-premise and cloud-based environments.

Enhance and maintain data infrastructure for ongoing research.

Apply principles of cloud computing and machine learning.

Qualifications 8+ years of professional experience in software development.

Previous team leadership experience is a plus.

Required Skills Strong proficiency in Python 3.

Experience with C++ is a plus.

Background in designing distributed systems is advantageous.

Hands-on experience with three or more of the following:  pandas, Flask, Plotly/Dash Google Cloud Platform (e.g. BigQuery) PostgreSQL, time-series databases, Apache Spark or Apache Beam Terraform, MLFlow, Apache Iceberg

Familiarity with CI/CD, unit/integration testing, OLAP, cloud computing, and data engineering best practices.

Excellent communication skills in English.

Collaborative team player with a passion for agile development, pair programming, and shared ownership.

Open to learning and exploring new tools and frameworks.

Preferred Skills Experience working in a startup environment.

Familiarity with machine learning principles.
