What You’ll Do
Develop the core system of a globally recognized printing app, written in Scala, enabling customers to effortlessly create personalized print products.
Enhance and optimize system architecture to scale with growing demand.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks by implementing creative solutions with your team.
Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, providing constructive feedback and fostering continuous improvement.
Share your expertise with the engineering team, ensuring high-quality development practices.
Your Skills & Experience
7+ years of experience in backend development (links to projects/GitHub are welcome!).
Strong knowledge of any JVM-based language (Scala, Kotlin, or Java). Willingness to learn Scala if not already experienced.
Experience with SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB) and NoSQL databases (AWS DynamoDB, Redis, MongoDB).
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies (S3, SQS, ECS, ECR, SES, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, ElasticCache, CloudFront).
Strong skills in REST API design and knowledge of automated testing methodologies.
Experience in performance optimization and tackling technical debt.
Ability to work independently, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a self-driven approach to challenges.
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
EU work permit or eligibility for an Austrian work visa (Computer Science degree required for non-EU applicants).
Willingness to relocate to Vienna, one of the world’s most livable cities.
Nice to Have
Experience migrating from monolithic to microservices architecture.
Knowledge of security best practices to protect user data and applications.
CI/CD experience with GitLab and workflow automation.
Interest in image processing algorithms.
