Principal Software Engineer, Austria

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to plan, design, and coordinate the development of innovative digital products for diverse clients across industries such as IoT, space exploration, finance, logistics, and smart technologies. This is a key technical role, offering the opportunity to define software architectures, mentor teams, and work with cutting-edge technologies.

Your Responsibilities 

Analyze technical requirements and define the best software & system architecture for each project.

Support multiple development teams in solving complex frontend & backend challenges.

Act as a mentor & coach for developers, fostering technical excellence.

Collaborate with designers, project managers, QA, and business teams to ensure project success.

Research emerging technology trends and contribute to strategic tech decisions.

Your Profile

✔ Several years of experience in designing software architectures.

✔ Strong expertise in both frontend & backend development.

✔ Proficiency in API & database schema design and automated testing.

✔ Knowledge of identity providers, software security, and modern cloud environments (Azure preferred).

✔ Experience with system architecture, containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes.

✔ Direct & open communication style, comfortable interacting with clients.

✔ Passion for user experience, detail-oriented work, and high-quality solutions.

✔ Strong motivation & willingness to learn.

 ✔ Fluent in both German & English.

📍 Location: Hybrid (Austria)

 💰 Salary: Starting at €4,000 gross/month (14x per year, 38.5h/week, no all-in contract) (final offer based on experience & qualifications)

Modality: HYBRID  with Relocation
